Roman ruins, youth, street musicians, street food and daytime cafes are the characteristics of this quarter. It’s a very pleasant walk around every little street, where tavernas, cafes and all sorts of shops can be found.
The pedestrianised Dimitríou Goúnari street is the roman axis that starts with the ruins of the palace of the Roman emperor Gallerius and continues past Egnatía street where it will take you all the way to the Rotunda. There are also many old churches to see on Egnatía street.
